Human rights

We promote human rights in policy, planning and reform across the mental health, alcohol and other drugs, and suicide prevention sectors.

  • OPCAT and mental health services

OPCAT helps protect the human rights, dignity and wellbeing of people in locked mental health wards through independent monitoring.

  • Restorative practice in mental health services

Restorative practice supports healing, accountability and learning when harm occurs in mental health settings.

  • Involuntary treatment protections

We’re supporting research into involuntary treatment in Queensland and opportunities for reform.
